Lucalyptus aka Louka

As a musician and DJ, Luca works with different musicians in the fields of electronic music and spoken words since years already.

Since 1992 till 2000, he has been involved as the promoter and DJ of the "Bikini Test", in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland
Massive attack dj's(Mushroom and Daddy G), Roy Ayers, The Roots, Asian Dub Foundation Maceo Parker, Scorn, Howie B, Last Poets, Hector Zazou, Toots and The Maytals Junkie XL are some of the numerous artists who plays there in 10 years of activity.

His musical career started in the middle of the 80?s, while he was playing bass in funk and punk music groups. He has soon been interested in spinning records, and has been invited to mix his music in many different Swiss and European clubs festivals(Blue Note/London, Rote Fabrik/Zürich, Montreux Jazz, Cully Jazz...) & radio (Radio Lora/Zürich, Couleur3); he was known as DJ LOUKA (Shiva airlines).

In 1997 he decides to create a band assembling spoken - word and electronic music. The beginning was He and Dani El Culebras mixing Michaud, Burroughs, Shakespare and Spanish unknown poets with electronic music from the turntables.
The association of poets, samplers, turntables and guitars made the A-Poetik band! A tour is organized around Europe (Paris, Le Batofar, Rennes, Les bars en trans, Stockholm, Gekko Festival, Berlin, Leipzig, Lubjana, Rome, Zürich, Amsterdam, etc around 50 dates / with supports of Gil Scott Heron and Lamb) during which Al Comet, active member of the The Young Gods, the Swiss pioneer band in electronic music) is met. Interested by the A-Poetik, he produces them and an album is released by Universal music at the Montreux Jazz festival in 2001.

Always interested by the underground scene, Luca meets Whitman McGowan (whitmanmcgowan.com), a San Franciscan poet; together, they build a science fiction set with stories of love, aliens and dreams. They play together in Europe, Switzerland and USA. From this experience exist the album "Caught in the act".

Also, in spring 2003, when Luca was travelling through the desert of New Mexico, he met Michael Kott (Cellegie.com) a cellist from another planet with who he starts a new musical adventure. With the album 2 humans & the Cosmos / Alien Love Song.
